Method of Preparing Kumkumadi Tailam
The first step of preparing the best kumkumadi tailam is by taking the sun-dried powdered forms of the herbs used for decoction. The herbs are then boiled to make the kwath in a suitable quantity. So, that 1/4th of the liquid remains within the vessel.
The decoction is then filtered and kept aside. The various herbs are then made into a paste using water. Finally, the Kalka paste is mixed with sesame oil, goat’s milk, and the decoction and boiled until the water evaporates and you are only left with the oil. The final touch is to add a pinch of saffron and rose water and cool it down and preserve it in a glass bottle.
